HOW TO PLAY

Playing the Zimm-Zamm Game is easy as 1. 2. 3.

!! SAFETY FIRST !!

The only way we recommend using the paddles is by making sure you use the lanyard/rope that is attached to the paddles. The paddles may slip during play. We always want safe conditions for the novice or pro alike. Simply slide your hand through the lanyard and twist the lanyard to a comfortable position to where your paddle is SNUG in your hand (not tight) to where it can not slip out.

PLAYING THE GAME:

One player is battling for the TOP of the coil, while the other player is battling for the BOTTOM of the coil.

Players should stand opposite each other. One takes the paddle and uses it forehand while the other player uses theirs backhand.

Backhand gets to START the game. Or simply flip a coin.

  1. The game is started by positioning the ring/clip (midway or center) on the coil. Count either 4 rings up on the coil or 4 rings down on the coil for accuracy.
  2. Hit the ball alternately in opposite directions. It will move up or down the coil based upon the direction the ball is hit. (Basically you want the ball to be contained in a small area i.e. not flying all over the place).
  3. When the ring/clip has hit the top or bottom of the coil the game/round is won.

(the best 2 out of 3) games/rounds WINS!

    THATS IT!!!

    • 1 game = 1 round
    • Typically 3 games/rounds = 1 set
    • (Your Choice). After each game, players change places (opposite sides) and then switches between backhand and forehand (taking turns).

    KNOCK-OUT

Are there a lot of people waiting in line to play?

Play the game of "KNOCK-OUT" It's "WINNER TAKES ALL"

Use 1 game/round to cycle through the people. YES the winner stays to play while the next person in line tries to knock-out the winner!  SUPER FUN!

    **********************************************************************

    ADVANCED RULES can be applied

    *   In case of a tangle, the game is restarted with the ring/clip (at the same position on the coil where the tangle occurred). The player who DID NOT cause the tangle restarts the game.

Try not to hit the ball too high or too low or "chop" at the ball, as it will cause some hang-ups or FOULS Some tend to do this to "WIN" the game as it also becomes too far to reach. The player who did not cause the FOUL restarts the game (at the position where the foul occurred).

    • TANGLES can happen when the ball is hit too "softly" Put some force into it!
    • FOULS can happen when the player "chops" at the ball and the ball flies towards your feet or above your head. Yes, fouls tend to tangle.

    ***********************************************************************

    ADVANCED PLAY:

    • Players stand at 11:00 position and 1:00 position to the pole.
    • Player "A" Play using Forward Hand
    • Player "B" Play using Back Hand

    Same Rules Apply

    **************************************************************************

     INDIVIDUAL PRACTICE:

Place the ring/ clip at the lowest level on the coil. Take a forehand or backhand position, then strike the ball. Hit the ball in opposite directions when it returns. Use this time for warmups. It will be paramount to your success! When you are able to control the ball and use the paddle correctly a super athlete is born!

When the athletes are ready to battle it out against their opponent, they will have learned to control the ball, and an INTENSE game of ZIMM-ZAMM appears.

The game may last longer than expected, but a true athlete will shine through!
